I've been looking at this sauna for a while and I'm glad I finally ordered it. I'm writing this only after my second session so I can only relate my experiences in that context. First of all, ordering and shipping was fast and easy as was assembly. There were 3 of us working on it, Me, Myself and I so unpacking and assembly took about 2 hours and that included removing the packing as I went, there is a lot of that. It came in 3 boxes attached securely to a 6 foot wide by 2 foot long pallet and while it was a struggle to drag the boxes into the house, one at a time I should add, I managed it, two people might have been better for that. I have a tile floor so dragging the boxes over them was no big thang. BTW, the arrows on the boxes are for shipping purposes, each box has to be laid down before opening.
I used a workbench and a wall to hold up the back panel until I could get one side attached and from then on it was drag a side over and lift it into position. I had to open the glass door to get a grip on the front panel and it too attached easily. The top went on OK, it fits very snuggly and if the sides aren't attached and aligned correctly it won't go on. I had a problem with it at first until I discovered that the control panel wire was pinched between the front panel and the top, once cleared the top snapped on like it was made for it. The outside appearance doesn't look bad at all in my living room, the raw edges have splinters though, I have a hole in my hand that can attest to that but there are no raw edges visible once assembled.
Actually using the sauna is intuitive, the control panel has symbols that make it easy. Having a control panel on both the inside and the outside is the way to go IMO, adding time or adjusting the temp would be a pain midsession if there were only one control on the outside. I set the temp at 120 degrees for both my sessions and the timer at 30 min. There is a loud and I mean loud tone in that relatively quite environment that will wake you up if you fall asleep when the timer gets down to 1 minute, it only sounds 3 times for about a second each time so it's not too annoying. I didn't wait for it to warm up much, maybe 3 minutes, the infrared rays are supposed to be doing their thing, right, not the heat as I understand it. I was sweating within 5 minutes after I entered, the temp gage said it was 80 degrees in there but keep in mind that the sensor is in the ceiling where if I remember right is where heat goes first.
There are a couple of things that I found strange, there is only one LED light on the inside and 3 on the outside under the overhang, what's up with that? The magazine rack isn't wide enough for a magazine so I didn't install it, reading is out until I get more light in there anyway. The element in the floor seems strange, supposedly the elements shouldn't be allowed to get wet. I chose not to hook it up and use towels both to sit on and over the floor to keep sweat off of it. If I decide to hook it up at a later date I might still use a towel over it, the elements under the floor and the seat are supposed to be lower power so that should be OK.
Mine came with an S curved door handle not the straight one in the pictures. My radio is installed in the ceiling panel and has a nice knob that allows me to tilt down a tray so that the radio is in front of me and not above and behind like in the pictures. The light therapy doohicky, uhm, I'll have to get back later on that. The ionizer and O2 thing seems to work OK, I've used it but since my sauna is new I'll have to see what happens, there is little or no odor from the wood like I expected. The base has hard plastic feet attached to the wooden feet at the corners and there are strips of wood under the floor with feet to support it in the middle so it doesn't sag at all. The backrest doesn't fit me very well so after using it for about 10 minutes I just took it out altogether. The bench is 43 inches wide so two average size people will fit in this thing well enough but they would have to be very good friends, as a single guy it's just right for one.
Oh yeah, this 2 person sauna is huge, I knew what the dimensions were before I ordered it of course but in person it's really big, kind of like Dr. Who's tardis in reverse.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this sauna or this company to anybody, I may even talk my dad into getting one.
