MSM and Flaxseed

Flaxseed Oil and MSM:

Many complementary and alternative regimens recommend the use of flaxseeds or flaxseed oil. 2 tablespoons of oil daily is the general rule. This translates to about 3 times as many of the seed alone.

Johanna Budwig, a German doctor, created the Budwig diet part of which uses cottage cheese (or quark) with flaxseed oil.
From Cancer Cure Foundation (www.cancure.org):
"Budwig diet/flax seed oil: The Flax seed (Linseed) oil diet was originally proposed by Dr. Johanna Budwig, a German biochemist and expert on fats and oils in 1951. Her simple formula of two tablespoons of flaxseed oil to a quarter cup of low fat cottage cheese (or other foods containing sulfur: MSM!) helps increase metabolism, boosts the immune systems, reduces cholesterol levels, and helps inhibit cancer-cell growth."

Today healthfood stores carry many brands of flaxseed oil. Recommended is "high-lignan" oil, which has the pulp of the seeds. Get cold-pressed, organic and keep it refrigerated. Use as salad dressing, etc; do not cook with it, heating damages it.
