Bone FAQ's

Q: What is the best way to take and benefit from Bone Renewal?

A: For your optimum bone health support you will want to take 5 capsules of Bone Renewal every day – two capsules with breakfast and three capsules with dinner. The latest scientific research reveals that we absorb more of the minerals and nutrients our bones need when we take them along with a meal and that it is also best to divide them up into two serving times for maximum benefits (hence 2 capsules with breakfast and the other 3 with dinner). It turns out that according to recent research, we do more bone regeneration during sleep than any other time of day – so we want to be sure we have all the nutrients we need for our bones to be able to regenerate and renew themselves during the night while we are sleeping (and that’s why we suggest taking your last serving of the day of Bone Renewal with dinner).

Q: What is the best form of calcium to take?

A: There are essentially just two forms of calcium in the world: inorganic, found in soil and rocks (which given it is indigestible, humans cannot absorb) and then there is organic calcium, found exclusively in plants, which is completely compatible for humans. Unlike almost all other supplements, which use inorganic rock-hard calcium, Bone Renewal’s calcium comes exclusively from plant-based organic calcium. In fact, we cultivate and harvest two organic plant-based forms. One is from the sea: a calcium and mineral-rich red algae that grows off the far reaches of the coast of Iceland; and another is from land: a rare white sesame seed that is cultivated for Synergy in Japan where it has a long tradition of being used for bone health. During the growing of the unique Icelandic red algae and Japanese white sesame seeds they both naturally transform the calcium, magnesium, minerals, and many other naturally occurring co-factors and bind them altogether to make a highly bio-available and beneficial calcium/magnesium mineral product. This allows the goodness within them to be absorbed into our bodies and to benefit our bones, our joints, all our organs and systems. At Synergy, we only use organic plant-based calcium because it is complete and whole and in the exact form nature intended for our bodies. Unlike almost all other supplements, we would never use inorganic calcium (calcium carbonate, calcium citrate, and etc.). Our goal at Synergy is first and foremost, to provide only the purest and most effective supplements possible, to support you and your family’s health and well-being.

Q: Why doesn’t Bone Renewal supply 100% of the entire recommended daily intake (RDI) of calcium?

A: For a very good reason! Our bodies require more calcium per day than any other mineral - as we have more calcium in our bodies by weight than any other mineral. The average amount of calcium currently recommended by medical science is between 1000 – 1,250 milligrams per day. (That’s equivalent to about 3 quarters stacked together). The trick is, there is a balance we need to find with our calcium intake. If we don’t get enough calcium our body and bones will suffer, but equally important is if we get too much calcium that’s not good for us. Studies have shown that nearly all people in developed countries consume on average about 400-500 milligrams per day of calcium from their diet (calcium is in green vegetables, dairy products, beans, seeds, and etc.). Bone Renewal was perfectly designed so between your diet and supplementation, you get the ideal amount of calcium everyday (not too little and not too much) -- and all of it as 100% wholefood, organic plant-based calcium. Please be very careful of supplements with 1000mg or more of calcium as not only may that mean you are getting too much calcium in your daily diet, but most likely it will not be from whole foods, and can end up being a further burden to your body. Likewise if your supplement does not have the ideal serving amount of 800mg, you will be getting too little every day. 800mg is the perfectly balanced and safe amount to have in your supplement (nothing more and nothing less!).

Q: Should I be taking a daily multi-vitamin/mineral product and other supplements along with Bone Renewal?

A: If you are seeking optimum health, wellbeing, and longevity – yes! Our bodies are a wonderful creation and they were designed to thrive for a very long time, but only if (and this is a big if) they are given everything they need to be healthy, strong, resilient, and happy! The best way to give our bodies and minds what they need is through a combination of eating a genuinely healthy and balanced diet, and supplementing daily with the very best and most effective organic dietary supplements possible. As we all know, we don’t all eat the most healthy and balanced diets day in and day out, and as such, we simply want to balance that with taking a variety of organic dietary supplements every day to help ourselves and our loved ones to stay healthy and well.

While Bone Renewal is the most comprehensive and complete bone health supplement in the market today, and it will do your bones and your body a world of good to take it by itself, that does not mean we don’t also need additional and unique nutrients for our overall health and well being. Accordingly, for the most optimum health building and health maintenance program, we have found that Synergy’s 3-fold core wellness products of Bone Renewal, Vita•Min•Herb, and Pure Synergy to be the most powerful and complete supplement program ever designed. In fact, all three of these were researched and designed to be 100% compatible together and perfectly safe taken together. In simple terms, these three products together will provide a perfect foundation for supporting your health and wellbeing. Unfortunately, many other common supplement products were not researched or designed to be taken with other products and therefore can result in our being out of balance. You won’t find that with any of Synergy’s core wellness products; they are all balanced, safe, and designed to be taken as food and taken together.

Q: What else can I do to help my bones?

A: The good news is there are lots of things you can do! First and foremost, nourish your body with the best nutrients possible. You can do this by simply eating more fresh fruits and vegetables every day, and good quality proteins as well. Also, by taking Bone Renewal every day and other good multi-vitamin/mineral organic supplements (see above) you will be both feeding your bones and body what they need and building up your nutrient reservoirs as well. In addition, one of the most important things is to engage is some form of regular exercise – a combination of walking daily, some weight bearing (lifting light weights), balancing exercises (yoga, tai chi, and etc.), all of these will literally do wonders for your bones, your body, and your mind!

Q: What is strontium and why do some company’s products have so much in it?

A: I am glad you asked that as there is a lot of confusion floating around - as too much of a good thing can be a very bad thing when it comes to strontium. A little bit of strontium (5mg) is a very safe and good amount to have in a bone support formula, especially if it is bio-organic strontium, as in Bone Renewal (meaning it comes from the organic red Icelandic algae itself). Our bodies have a small amount of strontium circulating in them all the time, and the reason why 5 mg is the perfect amount to supplement with, is this trace amount it is considered very positive and beneficial.

However, it has recently become “fashionable” for companies to offer supplements with inorganic strontium in serving sizes that contain as much as 150mg, 300mg or even 600mg of strontium -- and there is nothing normal or natural about any of these. In fact, this much inorganic strontium can actually cause your bones to become too hard and brittle and therefore, more prone to fractures and other bone related problems (as well as other harmful side-effects). Too much strontium also competes with calcium absorption, the exact opposite of what we want to accomplish, and it can end up replacing the calcium. There is a very big difference between “hard” bones and “healthy” bones, and our goal is healthy bones! Please, don’t be fooled by the marketing hype of taking large amounts of strontium. You should only take separate strontium supplements under the direction of your doctor, to ensure your safety and wellbeing.

Q: Bone Renewal contains whole-food vitamin K1 and K2 and I’m on blood-thinning medication, Is it okay for me to take it?

A: Vitamin K1 and K2 is found in abundance in many leafy green foods, hard cheeses, and fermented products and are considered essential for proper blood clotting and for maintaining healthy arteries. However, for those people who have the rare conditions where they might be on some kind of special blood-thinning medications, you should always check with your doctor before taking any supplements.
